The International Foundation for Art Research is hosting a new course on art crime, featuring Robert K. Wittman, the founder of the FBI’s Art Crime Team. Information on the course can be viewed at IFAR’s website as well as the course sign-up page.

1 (August 26): Exploration into instances of art theft and efforts made to recover them.

2 (September 9): Notorious fake art cases along with advice for identifying fake art.

3 (September 16) Recovering Alfred Rosenberg’s notebook, the importance of recovery, documentation and preservation of documents.

4 (September 23): Class will teach about the looting of ancient artifacts and how they are smuggled around the world, as well as the destruction of some of them.

5 (September 30): Notorious art heists, with details on how they were organized and executed, along with some unsolved cases.
